You have questions we have answers!

Q: How do I begin the process and make sure RACP can really cut my costs?

A: First, let us meet and give you a letter of confidentiality assuring the integrity of any purchasing or sales information we need. Then, we will gladly perform comparative analyses of your current vendors and pricing against the consistent, competitive pricing available through RACP and our vendors.

Q: Do I have to sign a long-term contract?

A: Your membership participation is month-to-month. If you are not satisfied that RACP meets or exceeds all of your expectations, simply quit with 30 days written notice. This, however, happens very, very Rarely.

Q: Am I bound by delivery restrictions and purchasing percentages?

A: No. When we negotiated the RACP contracts with distributors, it was very important that our independent members keep their freedom to use specialty distributors etc. There are no percentages of purchases that must come through our distributors and there are no restrictions on deliveries. Though you will be eligible for larger rebates through effective ordering.

Q: Why doesn’t RACP just charge distributors a percentage or “kickback” to generate their revenues so that members can enjoy these benefits for free?

A: RACP wants to be your partner for success. We profess to be the “best employee you will have.” We believe generating our revenues by “skimming” a percentage from our distributors would be an inherent conflict of interest. It does not take long to figure out that one actually works for whomever is paying them. We work for our restaurant members, not distributors and vendors.

Q: How much can I realistically expect to save?

A: The industry average mark-up on a truckload of goods from a distributor is 18%. We have seen restaurants being charged as much as a 30% mark-up. The RACP negotiated contracts yield a mark-up on goods of between 9 and 9.5%. This is very competitive with the contracts under which corporate chains purchase their groceries. Savings on other goods and services under the RACP umbrella vary from 3-30%..

Q: What if I want to use some of the RACP programs, but not all?

A: That’s fine. You can pick and choose which elements fit your operation and your needs.

Q: And again, how much will my membership cost?

A: The RACP dues structure is very simple. There are no confusing or misleading percentages.  Membership is a flat monthly amount.  There are discounts for multiple locations and there are discount incentives for referrals.
